Toughness of Metallic Materials and its Testing
Michalisko, Jan ; Zapletal, Josef (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor work deals with toughness as a mechanical property of metal materials. It defines the toughness and its demonstrations. It describes the transient behaviour of some metals at the static and dynamic load. Furthermore, the work describes the particular testing methods (Charpy‘s, Izod‘s, DWT, DT, DWTT). It covers the historical consequences of toughness testing.
Heat treatment of tool steels
Tobolík, Stanislav ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This thesis deals with the properties of ledeburitic chrome-vanadium tool steel after heat treatment. Theoretical part contains charakterization of ledeburitic steels, the posibility of manufacturing and heat treatment. There are also briefly describes the principles of the test methods, which were used. The practical part is focused on describing the results of 12 sample groups, with different heat treatment. The results are compared in the final discussion.
Properties of low-alloyed steels at decreased temperatures
Doležal, Petr ; Pálka, Stanislav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The goal of the thesis was research in the field of structure and properties of low alloyed steels used in low temperature environment. Work was focused on heat treatment and chemical composition of the steel and their impact to hardness and impact energy values. Chemical composition and heat treatment of steel was proposed on the basis of achieved results.
The Influence of Heat Treatment on the Structure and Mechanical Properties of Tool Steels
Tobolík, Stanislav ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the properties of tool steels after heat treatment. The theoretical part describes the properties of iron and its alloys with carbon, and an overview of the use of steel. It is also discussed in detail the heat treatment of tool steels and manufacturing process analysis and metallographic sample. In the last part of the bachelor thesis there are described the mechanical testing of metals. In the practical part it is tested structure and mechanical properties of the selected tool steels for two types of heat treatment and the results are compared with the requirements imposed on it.
Zkoušení penetrační vlastnosti vybraných ocelí s využitím nedestruktivního zkoušení
Příkazský, Erik
This diploma thesis deals with the problems of mechanical properties and cutting of steel. In the first part, thematerials are divided according to the concept. In the second part is described non-destructive testing of material by acoustic emission and tests of measurement of cutting abilities into various hard objects. The last part of diploma thesis includes individual measurement results and evaluation of results.
Stanovení mechanických charakteristik kořenů
Bujok, Lukáš
This bachelor deals with describing and assessmenting basic mechanical properties of woot-roots. Experimental determination of mechanical properties was carried out by the destructive method roots tensile stress on test machine. Test was carred out on three tree species. : Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karsten), Black poplar (Populus nigra L.) and Silver birch (Betula pendula L.). In the first place designed suitable method for testing wood-root. The thesis furthure describes the process of obtaining and preparation of sample, procedures during the actual testing, statistical analysis, comparing with the literature and discuss the impact of factors on the results achieved. The results indicate a statistically significant difference between the modulus of elasticity of birch and data spruce and poplar, data tensile strength of birch and data of spruce and poplar, failure force of poplar and spruce, data relative deformation on tensile strength of all the data together, data toughness poplar and data spruce and birch. Statistically insignificant was impact diameter of the root in poplar and spruce on the elastic modulus and the same applies of tensile strength, further we failed to demonstrate the influence of the diameter of the chimney to deformation at the roots of spruce and birch.
Návrh konstrukce barové židle s vyšší houževnatostí
Sigmund, Jan
The main aim of this diploma thesis is the design and implementation of innovative construction of selected bentwood barstool. This innovation has been focused on selected connections in the construction while increasing their toughness. Findings and knowledge in the field of eco-design, design of seating furniture, adhesion and material properties technology were used for elaboration of the draft. In the practical part, innovative design barstool has been designed and constructed on the basis of related expertise, underlying bachelor thesis and results of performed tests. Construction has been subjected to non-standardized tests for compressive strength and strain energy absorption.
Organic-Inorganic Polymer Nanocomposites
Ponyrko, Sergii ; Matějka, Libor (advisor) ; Krakovský, Ivan (referee) ; Zelenka, Jiří (referee)
The epoxy based polymer is one of the very common polymers, which was used as a host to create new better materials - nanocomposites. This thesis focused on the improvement of the thermomechanical properties of the epoxy thermosets without deteriorating their existing benefits and on further potential application of this knowledge in "smart" systems. The largest part of this work is dedicated to the reinforcement of epoxy thermosets by in situ generated silica and synthesis of organic-inorganic nanocomposites. Borontrifluoride monoethylamine (BF3MEA) was chosen as effective catalyst for the formation of nanosilica in epoxy-amine network matrix under nonaqueous (non-hydrolytic) sol-gel process. We proposed the mechanism of the nonaqueous sol-gel procedure, studied the structure evolution during the nanocomposite formation, and also determined the structure, morphology and thermomechanical properties of the obtained epoxy-silica nanocomposites. Significant attention in this work was given to the application of coupling agent and ionic liquids to improve compatibilization of the organic matrix and the inorganic part. As a result of the nonaqueous sol-gel process optimization by combination of the tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) and the coupling agent glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GTMS), the high-Tg and...
